WINE HAPPENINGS THIS WEEK: NY CHAMPAGNE WEEK!

I personally don’t need a reason to drink champagne. However, it does taste THAT much better when it’s in honor of something. This week, we’re honoring…CHAMPAGNE. That’s right! It’s the 6th Annual New York Champagne Week. Created six years ago by Blaine Ashley, also known as Champagne Blaine, NY Champagne Week is full of cutting edge events centering on champagne education, food pairings, networking and generating awareness of little known champagne houses.

A main component of NYCW is a focus on female heavy hitters in the champagne world. One of the week’s events that I can’t wait to attend is “The FIZZ is Female,” a panel discussion featuring some badass women in the champagne/wine world followed by a champagne tasting.
